Using Social Media for Building Your Mailing List

Wherever you turn, sooner or later, someone will be telling you to make the most out of it when it comes to increasing your business activity via social media. But little do people know that it is not as simple as most proponents would have you believe.

The question now is, do you have fans in facebook? How about your LinkedIn? Does it have a lot of with followers? If you were one of the lucky ones who get into Twitter at the beginning, then you should be having tons of followers by now.

How many of the followers you have that you managed to register in your mailing list?

Even though you were able to gather thousands of followers in your social networks, what good are these lists doing for you? I'm guessing that only very few of these contacts really engage with you.

The most unfortunate thing is that when you publish a post in your social media, a new post in the social website will push your post down after a minutes upon publishing.

It is important to note that the people who subscribed to your list from social media are very easy to contact via direct email, so you should take this opportunity to use social media as a tool to get subscribers to your list.

No matter how hard you stay engaged by posting, uploading etc, your competitors are also trying as hard as you to be able to stay relevant.

All the posts you worked for so hard can just simply go to the bottom of the page by other users pots.

Building a List via Social Networks

By sending a direct personalized email to one of your contacts from your list, you will have the opportunity to offer a very important and valuable piece of content, whether its an eBook or video for your subscribers.

All they need to do is to provide their email address that is already in your mailing list. Make sure that you also have the permission to follow up with other emails as well.

Emails are Personal

When sending an email to someone on your mailing list, you should compose it as if you are directly speakling with that person.

You need to greet them by their first name, so that way it wont be the same as others on your list that also get the same email message.

It is very important that you don't annoy these people by spamming to many messages because they will unsubscribe in your mailing list.

Your Subscribers are Relaxed

All these people who followed you is by their on choice, and they already got to know, feels relaxed around you and earned your trust. 

Although they might see a lot of posts from their feed, it is more likely they will notice and click on the offer of a free download you maybe be offering.

Possibilities in List Building

Social media can be a stream of revenue for list builders if used in the right way. You need to have user friendly landing pages and make sure it easily available without being annoying.

Social network is for interacting, fun and enjoyment of social users. So you make it sure that business aspect must remain under the radar and kept subtle.

Always Be Active

Always be active on your social networks by posting regularly, comment, likes etc. By doing this, people will start to recongnize you and you can invite these people on your list in a natural way.

Grow your list and start making sales!

Never underestimate the power of social media because today it is one untapped resource for generating sales leads.
